Help with using EkAyu on iPhone and iPad
For support, bug reports, or feature requests, email ekayuapp@gmail.com or use Settings → Feedback/Request Feature in EkAyu. Do not include medical records or other sensitive health information in your message.
Frequently asked questions
1. Do I need to log in to use EkAyu?
No. EkAyu does not use accounts or require a login. Create a profile and begin adding your information. For additional protection, you can enable the optional app lock in Settings. It uses the authentication available on your device, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.
2. Can I use EkAyu on an iPad?
Yes. EkAyu supports both iPhone and iPad. To see the same data on both, turn on iCloud Sync (see question 5).
3. Can I share a medical report with someone?
Yes. Sharing from a report’s details screen supplies the PDF or image attachments along with the report title and a text summary containing its type, date and time, and any provider, facility, and notes you entered. Notes are included in full, even when you select only some attachments. The receiving app determines whether it includes this title and summary. Sharing from an individual attachment’s preview supplies only that file. The entire profile is not shared automatically. Review the files and report details before sharing with a person or service you trust. The recipient or selected service controls its copy.
4. How do I report a bug or request a feature?
In EkAyu, open Settings → Feedback/Request Feature. Your mail app will open a draft addressed to the developer. Describe the problem or feature you would like, but do not attach medical records or include sensitive health information.
5. How do I access my iPhone records on my iPad?
Turn on Settings → iCloud Sync in EkAyu on both devices, using the same Apple Account. When you first open EkAyu on a new device and your iCloud already has EkAyu profiles, EkAyu asks whether you want to turn on iCloud Sync. Changes can take a few moments to appear, and need an internet connection and enough iCloud storage.
6. Where are my medical records stored?
On your device. If you turn on iCloud Sync, they are also kept in your own private iCloud account, and EkAyu encrypts your health information on your device before it is stored there. Your data is never sent to an EkAyu server, and the developer cannot see it. iCloud Sync is not a backup: edits and deletions on one device also apply to your other devices.
7. What happens to my data if I delete EkAyu?
Deleting the app removes its data from that device only. If you used iCloud Sync, your data stays in your iCloud and can return when you reinstall EkAyu and turn iCloud Sync back on. To remove it from iCloud, see question 8. The developer cannot recover deleted data because EkAyu does not keep a server or backup.
8. How do I turn off iCloud Sync or remove my data from iCloud?
Turn off Settings → iCloud Sync. Syncing stops on this device, and your data stays here.
To also remove EkAyu’s data from iCloud, first turn off iCloud Sync on your other devices, or they will upload their copies again. Then use Settings → Delete Data from iCloud. This also turns off iCloud Sync on the device you are using, and your data on that device stays.
9. Can I use EkAyu for family members?
Yes. You can create separate profiles to organize information for family members or other people in your care. Only store another person’s health information when you have their permission or are otherwise authorized to manage it.
10. What files can I attach to a report?
EkAyu accepts PDF, JPEG, and PNG attachments. You can add up to 15 files to one report, and each file can be up to 25 MB.
11. Does EkAyu provide medical advice?
No. EkAyu is an organizational tool and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services. Verify medical and medication information with a qualified healthcare professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
